Illinois Commission on the 50th Anniversary ACTIVITY THREE AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS Commission and Advisory Council Meetings

Over the course of the year, the Commission held monthly meetings at many venues, including the Office of the State Senate President Emil Jones, Jr., Chicago State University , the Cooperative Extension – University of Illinois , and at CBS/WBBM-TV. The meetings were well attended, lively, and productive. As a result, ten (10) major activities and events were well planned and exceptionally executed and publicized. The meetings were co-chaired by State Senator Mattie Hunter and Judge Arnette R. Hubbard. The meetings would typically last two or three hours. Deliberations ranged from event planning to website development to community awareness and involvement for the Brown 50 th commemorative year. These sessions/meetings served to galvanize the efforts of the Commission and to continually engage its collective spirit.
